Discounts allow you to lower the price of a concession item without changing your standard configuration. For example, you might offer a discount:

• to customers who mention a particular advertisement or social media post.
• for a particular item on a particular day of the week, such as a taco Tuesday special.
• to quickly go through short-dated stock.

You can also create discounts that are available only to participants in your rewards program.

Note: Discounts are only for concession items. If you're using V-Tix, you can offer discounted tickets with promo codes.

Important! Veezi doesn't apply discounts automatically. POS operators must apply discounts when they add items to orders. Let your POS operators know when you create a discount, and be sure they understand when and how to apply the discount.

Create a discount

1. 1. Log in to Veezi.
   2. Go to Food & items > Discounts.
   3. Click Add discount, and then click Create new discount.
      

      Tip: If you're creating a discount that's similar to one already in your system, click Add discount, and then click Copy existing discount. Find the discount you want to copy and click Copy discount.

   4. Enter a description and a short description. The short description appears in reports.
      

      Example: You could enter "10% off the first Monday of the month" as a description and "10% Mon - mail list" as the short description. A short description that identifies both the discount and any distribution method you use to promote the offer can help you easily analyze your reports and your business strategies.

   5. Choose whether the discount is available to all customers or only to participants in your rewards program. POS operators must identify the customer by swiping a card or entering an ID before applying discounts that are exclusive to participants of the rewards program.
   6. Click Manage items, and then click Add to select each of the items you want to discount.
   7. Click Save.
   8. For each item, select the discount Type, and then enter a Value.
      

      Examples: 

      • Select a type of Percentage Off and enter a value of 50 to offer items at half price.
      • Select a type of Price Off and enter a value of 1.00 to offer a $1 discount.
      • Select a type of Special Price and enter a value of 5.00 to offer an item for $5.

      Tip: To apply a single discount type and value to all the items that you've added to the discount, use the fields above the item list, and then click Apply to all.
