Note: This feature is available only if you're using V-Tix. To set up special pricing on concession items, create discounts instead.

Promotional prices can give your customers an incentive to get out and go to the movies. Create promo codes that customers can enter at checkout in V-Tix to receive discounts or special pricing that you specify, such as $5 off an adult ticket or 10% off student prices. You can limit promotion pricing to sessions on particular days or times during a period of time you specify.

Create a promo code

1. Log in to Veezi.
2. Go to Tickets > Promo Codes.
3. Click Add Promo Code, and then Create a new promo code.
4. Enter a description and a short description. The short description appears in reports.
   

   Example: You could enter "5% off in January" as a description and "5% Jan - mailing list" as the short description. A short description that identifies both the promotion offer and the distribution method can help you easily analyze your reports.

5. Enter an alphanumeric promo code. Codes must include at least one letter.
   

   Tip: To avoid customer frustration, keep codes short and easy to remember.

6. In the Restrictions section, specify any date range, days of the week, and times that the promotion can be used.
   

   Note: The restrictions you set apply to session times, not to sale times. A moviegoer can buy a ticket at any time, but the promo code works only when the ticket they're buying is for a session that falls within the restrictions you set.

7. Go to the Promotion tickets section.
   • Click Manage tickets.
   • Click Add to select each ticket that the promo code can be applied to.
   • Click Save.
8. For each ticket, select an option in the Type field, and then complete the Value field.
   

   Example: Select Price Off in the Type field, and then enter 5 in the Value field. When customers add this ticket type to an order for a session that falls within your restrictions, V-Tix will subtract $5 from the ticket price.

   Tip: To apply a uniform promotion to all the tickets you've added, complete the Default Type and Default Value fields above the Promotion tickets section, and then click Apply to all.

   Important! If you included a package ticket in this promotion, you can use only the Percentage Off option.

After you create a promo code, communicate the promotion and the code to your potential customers. You might print the code on flyers, include it in a printed ticket or receipt message, or include it in a message you send to your mailing list.
