The Veezi point of sale, or POS, system has a variety of configuration options that let you craft a workflow that suits your operation and your staff.
Before you begin
Tasks to complete outside of Veezi
- Obtain all your POS workstation hardware. Contact Veezi support for assistance and recommendations, and be sure to review Veezi's technical requirements.
- Select a payment processor and create an account.
Important: Veezi supports several (but not all!) payment processors at POS. Contact Veezi support for the current list of supported payment processors.
Note: You can complete the setup steps below, skipping the payment processor details, and add that information later.
- Plan your POS setup, considering what configuration will work best for your operation.
Tasks to complete in Veezi
- Confirm that your payment type setup meets your needs.
- Create the tickets and concession items you'll sell at POS.
- Create the profiles that determine how the POS screen looks and, if you're using a second screen, how the customer-facing display looks.

Configure your point of sale settings
You can change your point of sale settings at any time, and the new settings take effect immediately. When you change a workstation setting, you must close and re-launch POS for the changes to take effect.
Refund and void settings
Set standard system behavior for processing refunds and place limits on who can process refunds and when.
- Log in to Veezi.
- Go to Settings > Refunds & Voids.
- Click Yes or No to determine whether Veezi prints a new ticket when you process a ticket refund.
- If you select Yes, choose one of the following options:
- Summarize refunds: Veezi prints one ticket for a refund transaction. The ticket includes a line for each individual ticket included in the refund.
- Print 1 ticket per refund: Veezi prints one ticket for each ticket included in the refund.
- If you select Yes, choose one of the following options:
- Click Yes or No to determine whether POS operators are prompted and required to enter a reason when they process a refund.
- Click Yes or No to determine whether POS operators are prompted and required to enter a reason when they void a transaction.
- Click Yes to have the booking fee refunded along with the ticket price when a ticket is refunded. Click No to make booking fees non-refundable.
- In the Refund Limit Tender Method field click Yes to choose any of the following options:
- Swipe Any Card. Card refunds can be processed to any credit or debit card that a customer provides.
- Swipe Same Card. Card refunds can be processed only to the credit or debit card used for the original transaction.
- Enter Approval Code. A Manager or the System Admin user must approve refunds by entering their user number and PIN.
- Use the Refund Approval Required field to require approvals of refunds that are processed a specified amount of time after a session begins. For example:
- Enter 30 and select the "show" option to require approval of any refund processed more than half an hour after the scheduled session start time.
- Enter 10 and select the "feature" option to require approval of any refund processed more than ten minutes after the film start time, ignoring the trailer duration time.
- Use the Cancel Card Payment Type field to determine whether voided credit and debit transactions are applied to the card used in the transaction, are provided only in cash, or are not processed.
Note: This setting applies only to voids. When a card is swiped at POS, the payment is immediately processed, but it is held until the POS operator taps the Veezi button to complete the transaction. You can void the transaction in the time after the card is swiped but before the transaction is completed.
General POS settings
- Log in to Veezi.
- Go to Settings > Point of Sale.
Date and Time settings
Choose whether to show times in 24 or 12 hour format in POS.
Tickets & Receipts settings
Click Yes or No to determine each of the following:
- Whether POS operators can print a receipt at any time by tapping the Receipt button. If you select No, the Receipt button is hidden.
- Whether receipts include tickets in addition to concession items.
- Whether package items appear as a single item or as a list of all the individual items included in the package.
- Whether receipts are automatically printed at the completion of each transaction.
Point of Sale Specific settings
- Select the pieces of customer information that are required when POS operators create bookings.
- By default, ticket prices appear on POS ticket type buttons. Set the Display Ticket Price setting to No to hide these prices. Prices still appear in line items when POS operators add tickets to an order.
- Click Yes to have the cashdrawer at POS workstations open only at the completion of cash transactions. When you select No, POS operators can open the cash drawer at any time.
- Click Yes to allow POS operators to sell tickets to a session after the session has ended. This option is useful in rare circumstances, such as when a customer is running late and you offer them the option to buy their ticket after the movie.
- Use the Upgrade Quantity and Upgrade Value fields to control when Veezi prompts POS operators to offer package items as an upgrade to a customer's order.
- Enter a quantity as a percentage. The items in an order must match this percent of a package's items for Veezi to suggest the package as an upgrade. For example, if you create a package that includes four items and you set this field to 75%, Veezi suggests the package as an upgrade only when an order includes three of the four items included in the package.
- Enter a value as a percentage. The items in an order must match this percent of a package's cost for Veezi to suggest the package as an upgrade. For example, if you create a package that costs $10 and you set this field to 80%, Veezi suggests the package as an upgrade only when an order includes one or more items included in the package and the cost of those items is $8 or more.
Note: The Upgrade Quantity and Upgrade Value fields work together. The conditions they set must both be true for Veezi to suggest an upgrade.
- Set both fields to 100 to have Veezi always suggest upgrades when an item that is included in a package is added to an order.
- Set both fields to 0 to have Veezi never suggest upgrades. POS operators will never see upgrade prompts, and they must add package items and remove individual items to sell upgrades.
- The Turn Discount Button Off After Each Item setting determines the POS workflow for applying discounts.
Regardless of the setting you choose, the workflow goes as follows:- POS operators tap Discount, and then select a discounted item.
- Any discounts that apply to the item appear.
- POS operators choose a discount to apply, and the item is added to the order at the discounted price.
The setting you choose determines what happens when the POS operator adds the item to the order again.
- Yes: POS operators follow the workflow above each time they add a discounted item to an order.
- No: POS operators tap the item and the discount they chose is automatically applied. The discount remains active until the order is completed.
Workstation settings
- Log in to Veezi.
- Go to Settings > Workstations.
- Select a concession profile.
- Select one or more of the check boxes to determine the following behavior:
- Whether a supervisor's credentials are needed to open the cash drawer.
- When this check box is cleared, any POS operator can open the cash drawer.
- When this check box is selected, the user number and PIN of the System Admin user or a user in either the Manager or Supervisor user group must be entered before the cash drawer opens.
- Whether a detail screen appears when a POS operator taps Loyalty and looks up a participant in your rewards program.
- When you clear the check box, the ticket screen appears when POS operators look up a participant.
- When you select the check box, a list of the recognition tickets available to the participant appears when POS operators look up a participant.
- Whether an inactive user is logged off.
- Select this check box to log off a user who is logged in to an unresponsive POS session. For example, use this check box when a POS workstation device shuts down unexpectedly.
Note: When a POS operator is logged in to a POS session that is functioning normally, selecting this check box does nothing. The POS operator must log out of the session as usual.
- Select this check box to log off a user who is logged in to an unresponsive POS session. For example, use this check box when a POS workstation device shuts down unexpectedly.
- Whether a supervisor's credentials are needed to open the cash drawer.
