To get started selling concessions in Veezi, you'll need a record for each item you offer, from popcorn and soda to 3D glasses, gift cards, or subscriptions to your rewards program.
Tip: When you create items, you have the option of importing pre-configured items from the Veezi database. You can then edit these items as needed to suit your operations.
To create or manage your item records, log in to Veezi and go to Food & items > Concessions.
- Click a column header to sort the list of items.
- Use the search field and filters to find an item by name, class, or active status.
- Click an item name to edit the record.
- Update the price in any site column to set location-specific item prices.
Before you begin creating individual item records, think through how you'll link and customize items to clearly present concession information to your POS operators and to offer your customers the choices you'd like them to have. You can use item packages, options, upgrades, and modifiers to create the setup you want.
-
Packages: If you have items that are frequently sold together, or if you offer special pricing on a group of items, you can put those items together in a package.
Example: Create a soda item, a popcorn item, and a candy item. Then, create a Combo package item that groups the soda, popcorn, and candy items. Create a POS button for the package so POS operators can select the package to add all three items to an order at once.
-
Options: If you offer variations of a single product, you can create each of the options as an item and then create an item that groups all the options together. With this setup, a single item appears in your sales channels, but customers or POS operators can still access all the product variations.
Example: Create items for each flavor of soda or ice cream that you offer. Then, create small, medium, and large soda items, or one scoop and two scoop ice cream items, and add the flavors as options.
-
Upgrades: If you want to prompt POS operators to upsell certain items, link the higher-priced item to the lower-priced item as an upgrade.
Example: Create an item for a medium soda and an item for a large soda. In the medium soda item record, select the large soda item as an upgrade. When a POS operator adds a medium soda to an order, a message reminds the POS operator to ask whether the customer would like to upgrade from medium to large.
-
Modifiers: If you offer customizable items, create item records for each choice a customer can make. Then, collect the items for the available choices in a modifier group, and add the modifier group to the customizable item.
Example: Create an item for a salad. Create an item for tofu, and item for chicken, and an item for steak. Create a modifier group for salad proteins. Add the tofu, chicken, and steak items to the salad proteins modifier group, and then add the salad proteins modifier group to the salad item. Customers or POS operators will be prompted to select a protein whenever they order a salad.
Important! If you plan to conduct stocktakes, track stock levels, and closely analyze your concession sales in Veezi, set up Inventory before you create concession items.
