Ready to sell tickets online? Just turn on V-Tix!
To make V-Tix yours, pick your colors, create links to your website, decide what customer contact details to collect, and customize the ticket buying and check out flow. Then enter your payment processor details so you can accept payments.
Before you begin
Before you jump into configuration, think through how you'd like your customers to complete the sales process. You have two options for setting up V-Tix:
- You can send customers from your website to a V-Tix session list.
Example: Your website provides general information about your cinema and includes a Buy tickets! button that customers click to browse your scheduled sessions.
- When customers build an order, they can browse all your scheduled sessions and purchase tickets to multiple sessions in a single transaction.
- When customers check out, they can enter any promo codes you've created and redeem any gift cards you've created with Veezi's Vouchers and Gift Cards module.
Note: To use this option, you'll turn on the shopping cart when you customize the customer experience.
- You can send customers from your website directly to the V-Tix ticket selection page for each session. This options gives your customers a quick, simple purchasing workflow.
Example: Your website provides detailed information about your cinema, upcoming films, and your current sessions. Each scheduled session time is a link to the ticket selection screen for that session.
Important! Configuration to skip the session list page requires setup from your web developer.
Decide which configuration option you'll use before you continue with the steps below.
Configure V-Tix
- Log in to Veezi.
- Go to Additional Modules > V-Tix and click Manage.
- Follow the steps detailed in the sections below:
Make V-Tix yours
- Select a background and a highlight color, and click choose.
- V-Tix uses the background color on the session list page when no ticket has been selected. It also uses the background color when no other background image is available. The ticket selection page uses the backdrop graphic specified in the relevant film record. If there is no backdrop graph, the movie poster graphic specified in the relevant film record appears instead. The checkout page background is the backdrop or poster of the movie first added to the order.
- V-Tix uses the highlight color for important text and action buttons, like Select tickets, Sign in, and Review.
Important! When you finish your configuration, preview your setup to ensure your color choices haven't made any text or buttons difficult to see.
- In the Banner Image box, click Choose File and upload an image that appears at the top of your V-Tix site and in the ticket purchase confirmation emails you send.
Important! Use an image that's 960 pixels wide. When you finish your configuration, take a look at V-Tix to confirm that your image isn't too tall and isn't taking up too much screen space. If you anticipate that customers might print the confirmation emails you send, consider using a small and simple banner image.
Tip: V-Tix supports a variety of image file types, including .png files that include transparent areas. You might take advantage of this option to have your logo appear on top of the background image.
Enter ticket purchasing details
- Enter any booking fee that you charge in addition to the ticket price.
Important! If your region requires tickets to be fee-inclusive, skip this step, and, once you are finished here, follow the steps in "Making ticket prices fee-inclusive".
Note: Booking fees are charged per ticket, including package tickets. For example, a family pass that includes 2 adult and 2 child admits will have a single booking fee.
- Select an appropriate Sales Tax option to reflect how you tax and report the tickets you sell online.
Note: You can set sales taxes for tickets sold at POS when you configure tickets.
- In the Online bookings cutoff time field, enter a number of minutes. Online ticket sales close at this time prior to each session. V-Tix never allows ticket sales after a session starts.
Tip: Consider closing online sales 10-15 minutes before each session to ensure that any tickets added to a cart but not purchased are released and available for last-minute, in-person sales at POS.
- Enter a link to a ticket purchase terms and conditions page on your website.
Note: Customers must accept terms and conditions to complete a transaction in V-Tix. Enter a web address to a page that you actively maintain to avoid having customers contact you about missing or outdated terms and conditions.
- Enter an email address for your cinema or site. If customers reply to ticket-confirmation emails, this is the address their replies will go to.
Collect contact details
Click Yes to capture customer contact details.
-
Email addresses are saved when customers opt to join the mailing list while checking out.
-
Mobile numbers are associated with the ticket purchase, just like when you create a booking. Numbers aren't saved in such a way that you could later contact customers in bulk.
Note: When you capture mobile numbers, you can also decide whether to require that customers enter mobile numbers to complete a purchase.
Customize the customer experience
- Click Yes to turn on the shopping cart, which allows customers to buy tickets for multiple sessions in one transaction and to use promo codes. Click Yes again to allow customers to redeem gift cards.
Important! You can turn on the shopping cart anytime after you've launched your V-Tix site. If you make this change, do so at a low-activity time to avoid confusing customers who are partway through a purchase.
- Click Yes to have Veezi generate a unique QR code for each ticket purchased in V-Tix. Click Yes again to also send customers a barcode for the entire order.
Tip: It's sometimes helpful to generate a unique code for each ticket. For example, this option works well if it's common for one customer to purchase tickets for a group, and then forward the ticket confirmation email to multiple individuals. In this scenario, you can scan the unique ticket barcodes as each moviegoer arrives separately. It's also helpful to have a barcode for the whole order. If all the individuals arrive together, you can scan one code to admit the whole group.
- Enter a web address in the Redirect URL field to have V-Tix show a "home" link at the end of a transaction. Customers who click the link or click the banner image are redirected to this address. Typically, you'll enter your website home page address here.
- In the Site Description field, enter any message you like. The text you enter appears with an Important Information heading beneath the film synopsis on the ticket selection page.
Note: You can't change the heading text.
- In the Pre-Payment Message field, enter any message you like. The text you enter appears on the purchase page, immediately after the fields for the customer's details.
- Enter a title and message. The text you enter in these fields appears as a header and a paragraph at the end of the email customers receive when they successfully complete a purchase.
Note: The subject line of successful transaction emails is "Ticket Confirmation."
- Choose the order in which shows appear by default on the session list page. Customers can change the order to find the session they want.
Skip the session list
If you're planning to send customers directly from your website to a specific V-Tix ticket selection page, instead of to the session list page, your web developer must use Veezi's APIs to connect your site with V-Tix. If you need assistance with this setup, click the link and enter your web developer's contact details. We'll reach out to ensure you have all the details you need.
Enter payment processor details
Choose your payment processor and enter your account details. Work with your payment processor technical support representative if you're not sure where to find the details you need.
Save and preview
When you've finished your configuration, save your changes.
We strongly recommend that you click Save and preview. Review your V-Tix site and make sure it looks just the way you want before you add links to it from your website.
Tips:
- If you're setting up V-Tix and you haven't yet finalized your payment processor account, you can select any payment processor and enter any character in each of the fields to save your changes and preview your configuration.
- If your selections don't appear as expected in the preview, press Shift + F5 to refresh the page.
Important! Don't forget to update your ticket types. Only tickets in the Web sales channel are available in V-Tix. You can also select sales channels for individual sessions when you're scheduling films.
