When you sell multiple items at once, such as when you offer a popcorn and soda deal, you can put the items together in a package. A package item allows POS operators to add all of the included items to an order with a single button tap. All of the items in the package are added to the order in one, uniquely priced line.
Creating package items is helpful when you have any items that are frequently sold together, and it's a way to offer special pricing when customers buy more.

Learn about concessions and other items, and then create items.
Create an item package
-
- Log in to Veezi
- Go to Food & items > Concessions.
- Click Add item package.
- Complete the Item details form just as you did when you created an item.
Note: The item pricing values are display-only because pricing is calculated when you add items to the package.
- Click Manage items, and then click Add to select each of the items to include in the package.
- Click Add to package.
- For each item in the package, enter a price and a quantity.
- The price you enter here doesn't affect the default price you entered when you created the item or any site-specific price you entered on the Concessions page. Maintaining the package price separately means you can offer discount or free pricing within the package.
Example: You usually sell a small popcorn for $5, but you offer a 'buy two drinks, get a free small popcorn' deal. To reflect this offer in Veezi, you can create a package item that includes both a drink item at the regular price with a quantity of two, and a small popcorn item with a price of $0.
Note: You can set site-specific prices for packages using the columns on the Concessions page.
- The quantity is the number of each item included in the package.
Example: In a package for a "three candy bars for the price of two" deal, you might add a single Candy Bar item and enter a quantity of 3. (You'd also want to reduce the price to two-thirds of your standard candy bar price.)
- The cost price shown is the cost price you entered when you created the item.
- The item and the cost prices of each item in the package are totaled and displayed as the Default Item Price and Cost Price of the package.
- The price you enter here doesn't affect the default price you entered when you created the item or any site-specific price you entered on the Concessions page. Maintaining the package price separately means you can offer discount or free pricing within the package.
- Click Save changes.
Prompt customers to buy the package
When a customer chooses an item that you've included in a package, you can have a message appear in POS, prompting the POS operator to offer the customer the package instead of a single item or instead of a combination of items. To configure when this prompt appears in POS, update your General POS settings.
