Note: Follow these setup instructions only if you're using the Vouchers and Gift Cards module.

Vouchers let you offer tickets at a set (typically discounted) price, regardless of the specific session a guest will attend. You can limit a voucher to a specific kind of ticket, such as adult 3D or child matinee, or to a specific time period, such as within a month of another ticket purchase or within six months of when the voucher is issued. You can configure each type of voucher you'll offer to be redeemed once, or you can allow customers to top up vouchers by adding ticket redemptions to the initial amount.

Note: Vouchers can only be sold at POS but can be redeemed at POS or online. They can't be sold or redeemed at Kiosk.

Create a Voucher Type for vouchers

When you create a Voucher Type record for vouchers, Veezi automatically creates the Ticket Type records that you'll add to price cards and the Item records that you'll add to POS.

1. Log in to Veezi.
2. Go to Additional Modules > Vouchers and Gift Cards and click Manage.
3. Click Create Voucher Type.
4. Enter a name that identifies what the voucher is for, such as "2 Adult - Weekday" or "5 child (rechargable)."
5. Enter any six-character, alphanumeric code you like. This code is used as the first six characters of all barcodes generated for this voucher type. Capitalize all letters.
6. Select Multiuse in the Type of Voucher field.
   

   Note: Select Multiuse even for a voucher that can be redeemed only once.

7. Enter the number of tickets that a guest will be able to collect after the voucher is purchased.

Important! After you click Save, you can no longer change the code, type, or number of tickets. If you need alternate settings in these fields, you'll need to create a new Voucher Type record. All other voucher settings can be selected and edited before or after saving.

Set expiration rules for the voucher

1. Select how the system determines a voucher expiration date.
   • Calculate on sale: The voucher expires and can no longer be redeemed after a set length of time from the date on which it is sold.
   • Calculate on printing date: The voucher expires and can no longer be redeemed after a set length of time from the date on which it is issued.
   • No expiry: The voucher never expires.
   • Calculate on session date: The voucher expires and can no longer be redeemed after a set length of time from the session date of the ticket purchased in the same transaction as the voucher.
     

     Tip: Use this setting to run a promotion along with a movie you know will be popular. Set a short expiration date to encourage customers who are already purchasing a ticket for one session to plan a return trip to the cinema.

2. In the Validity period length field, enter a number. Then, select either Days or Months to determine how long the voucher is valid based on your expiration date calculation choice.
3. Optionally, turn on Set expiry dates to end of month to have vouchers expire at the end of the month determined by your expiration date calculation choice.
4. Optionally, turn on Sales channel can override expiry date on sale to give your POS operators the ability to adjust an expiration date when they sell this type of voucher.

Additional configuration

After you save your voucher record, additional tabs appear:

• Base pricing. Set the price of the voucher as well as the price of the ticket you'll report when the voucher is redeemed and any additional fees. These settings are required.
• Limitations. Determine when vouchers of this type are available for purchase. These settings are optional. If you don't set limitations, vouchers of this voucher type are always available for purchase and can be sold anytime.
  

  Tip: One of the options on the Limitations tab is Not valid. Use this setting if you're creating a voucher type in advance of when you'll being using it, or to deactivate a voucher type that you no longer need.

• Recharging. Allow a voucher holder to add ticket redemptions to their voucher.
  

  Tip: If you plan to allow customers to recharge the type of voucher you're creating, go ahead and turn on Allow Recharge now. This setting won't have an effect until you create a recharge option.

Note: The Integrate with Loyalty setting is intentionally off. You don't need to worry about it.

Configure voucher pricing

1. Go to the Base Pricing tab.
2. Enter the following prices and fees.

   Note: Don't select the Use default check box.

   • Ticket admit price: This is the price reported to distributors and used for film hire calculations.
   • Sale admin fee: This fee is applied once per ticket. For example, if the redemption quantity of the recharge is set to 5, this fee is applied five times when a customer purchases the voucher.
   • Card fee: This fee is applied once per transaction. For example, this fee is applied once when a customer purchases the voucher, regardless of the ticket quantity of the voucher.

As you enter values, the system calculates the Total sale price by adding the ticket admin price, the sale admin price multiplied by the voucher ticket quantity, and the card fee. This calculated total is the sale price a customer pays to purchase the voucher.
