When you sell tickets at POS, you have the option to make a booking by collecting a customer's contact details instead of processing an anonymous transaction. This feature is helpful if customers are buying tickets in advance and you need to confirm their identities when they collect or use the tickets later.
Important! To protect customers' privacy, all identifying data, including names, phone numbers, and email addresses collected for bookings are removed from your system after 90 days.
How it works
In the Tickets tab, POS operators tap Book and then select a ticket type. The ticket is added to the order. When the POS operator goes to the payment screen to complete the transaction, a form appears prompting the POS operator to collect customer details. When you set up bookings, you decide which pieces of customer information to require, including name, phone number, and payment card number.
Note: The customer details form includes check boxes that are cleared by default. To take actions like collecting payment or printing tickets immediately, the POS operator must select the relevant check boxes.
Important! By default, unclaimed bookings are cleared from the system after seven days. POS operators must select the Prevent seat release check box on the customer details form to hold bookings for longer than a week.
When a customer collects a booking, POS operators tap Find Booking and search using any of the customer's details.
- If the booking hasn't been paid, the order opens and the POS operator can complete a regular transaction workflow.
- If the booking was paid in advance, a ticket screen appears. The POS operator can tap Tickets Only to print the tickets. Customers must purchase concessions or other items in a separate transaction.
Using booking
The booking option is always available in Veezi, but selling tickets directly is the default sales workflow. Contact Veezi support if you'd like to have booking be the default sales option.
To select the customer details that POS operators collect when they make a booking, update your General POS settings.
