When you're ready to create your session schedule, log in to Veezi and click Programming.
Before you begin
Before you can create your session schedule, your system must include screen, film, ticket, and price card information. You might also want to review your default show and seating settings before you start programming.
Tip: If you're new to film programming in Veezi, check out the tips below on navigating this feature.
Schedule sessions
- Log in to Veezi.
- Go to Programming > Programming.
- Click Add show.
- Choose a film.
- Choose a screen.
- Choose the days of the week you'll show the film.
Tip: Select multiple days if you'll show the film at the same time on each day. If you'll show the film at different times on different days, schedule each unique time slot separately.
- Enter a time for the session. Enter multiple times to create multiple sessions on a single day.
Tip: Enter a session time, and then click the buttons on either of the time entry field to create additional session times next to the session you entered.
- Select a price card.
Tip: After you've scheduled a film, a selection field and a color guide appear below the grid. You can choose to color code your view by film, price card, or availability.
- Set a seating option. The default seating setting is automatically selected.
- Choose whether complimentary tickets are allowed for the session.
- Choose the sales channels in which you'll offer tickets to the session.
- Set the session status:
- Planned: Planned sessions appear in the schedule but are not yet available in your sales channels. Use this status when you're creating your schedule.
- Open: Open sessions appear in the schedule, and customers can purchase tickets to these sessions in the sales channels you select. Apply this status to begin admission sales.
- Closed: Closed sessions appear in the schedule but are no longer available in your sales channels. Use this status to stop sales prior to the actual showing date.
- Click More to see additional settings.
- You can change the default trailer and cleanup times to prevent other sessions being scheduled too close to this one.
Notes:
- The next show can start no earlier than five minutes after the end time of the previous show. To calculate an end time, Veezi first identifies a show start time, and then adds the trailer time, the film duration, and the cleanup time.
- Cleanup time settings are respected even though cleanup time is not visually represented on the schedule.
- Enter a cleanup time of zero minutes to schedule shows back to back.
- You can mark the session as a private showing. Tickets for these sessions aren't offered in any sales channel except POS. When POS operators select tickets to this session, a message appears reminding them that the session is private.
- You can choose to have Veezi report revenue from the session on the next day. You might use this option, for example, for a midnight showing.
- You can change the default trailer and cleanup times to prevent other sessions being scheduled too close to this one.
Navigating film programming
Programming is a simple grid with a row for hours or days and cells for scheduled films.
You have a few options to adjust what you see and how you move around on this screen:
- Change the date: Use the selection buttons above the grid to move from day to day or week to week. Click the date or the calendar icon to move the view to a particular date, or use the scroll bar below the grid to move through the schedule. You can also hold the Shift key and use a scroll wheel to move left or right through the grid.
- Change the view: The default film programming view is hour by hour so you can see the schedule for a day. Click Week to see your schedule day by day for a week.
- Change the settings: Click the gear icon to set the start time of your programming day. When you select a date or click Today in the Day view, the calendar scrolls so that the time you selected appears at the left and you can easily schedule into each hour after that time. You can also choose whether to use 12 or 24 hour time.
- Change the colors: After you've scheduled a film, a selection field and a color guide appear below the grid. You can choose to color code your view by film, price card, or availability.
You also have a few options to adjust and take action on your schedule:
- Nudge a session: Click on a planned session and drag it to a new time or use the left and right arrow keys to move the session five minutes earlier or later. You can't take this action when the session is open or closed.
- Change the screen: Click on a planned session and select a different screen or use the up and down arrow keys to move the session to a different screen. You can't take this action when the session is open or closed.
- Select multiple sessions: Hold the Ctrl key while clicking sessions to select as many as you like. Then, take action on all the selected sessions at once.
Example: You can nudge or open all the sessions on one day, or close all the sessions scheduled to play on one screen.
Alternatively, click the blue arrow below each screen number or next to the Today button above the schedule. Use the menu to work with all shows in the week, day, or screen. - Copy a schedule:
- You can copy the program of one day to another day in the same week or in the next week. In the Day view, click Copy Day, and then select the days that will have the same schedule as the current day.
- You can copy the program of one week to another site. In the Week view, click Site Copy, and then select the sites that will have the same schedule as the current week.
